A merry expression I’ve heard one the other day, and which expresses well the spirit associated with the use of shared spaces by several companies and professionals. A study published last month by the magazine Deskmag concludes that currently there are 1780 coworking spaces all over the world, having registered a growth of almost 100% in the last year. We can verify this tendency both in the USA and Europe and if we think that only small companies are adopting this Cool model, the conclusion is much more broaden – the advantages do not resume itselves to a low cost. The expenses rationalization, productivity increase, partnership and networking opportunities end up convincing the more skeptical. The “community” cultures contributes to a professionals’ satisfaction and performance improvement and, nowadays, no one stays indifferent to the new coworking spaces, which offer comfortable facilities in central areas, a strong Corporate image, meeting and work rooms equipped with state of the art technology, secretariat services, virtual offices and other facilities which promote work efficiency. This is a new generation of coworking spaces with a strong corporate dynamic and not only a companies’ incubation place used by individuals which used to work at home. These spaces offer a mix of formality and relaxation, where good sense is the first rule and where collaboration and experiences exchange between companies and professionals is promoted. It certainly is not the ideal model for some activities, but the flexibility demanded nowadays has resulted in the increase for a search of Coworking by many companies using these spaces to develop new projects, finding there the best solution to develop team work outside their “natural habitat. They are “Cool” places, where the word “Work”, despite all is always present. |
