This month, Avila Spaces gave an interview Human Resources Magazine on the new model hybrid office, Flex Office. We transcribe below. Human Resources Magazine Interview Avila Spaces - CEO Carlos Gonçalves What does the Flex Office solution consist of? At this time of "semi-deflation”, we are very much in demand by companies that rent our meeting rooms for a day or just a few hours, intending to bring together their teams that are geographically dispersed and developing onboarding processes for new employees. Flex Office consists of a new hybrid work model, in which companies will be able to choose the 3rd space, as an alternative to the headquarters office and the employees' home. This 3rd space can function as a "satellite office”, with cost savings for companies and clear benefits for the balance between the personal and professional lives of employees. Flex Office allows companies to use cowork or business lounge jobs, private offices, and meeting rooms, on a permanent or one-off basis, paying only for the time they use. How does the "satellite office” logic apply to today's reality? The companies that adhere to the "Satellite Office" have a common need: they seek to solve the problem of isolation associated with the "home office", with all the negative consequences, for employees and companies, from the point of view of motivation, productivity, management of remote work teams, onboarding processes and corporate culture. Although teleworking has positive aspects for many companies, it is important to maintain social and emotional ties between employees. Avila Spaces carried out a study that allowed to conclude that companies obtain savings of up to 70% if they choose a workspace in the "Flex Office” model. The "traditional” occupation of an office has costs that go beyond income. The initial investment in works is reflected throughout the occupation of the space. Besides, there is a considerable amount of consumables, water, and electricity every month. The transition from a "traditional” occupation to a satellite office solution can represent significant savings for the company, reaching, in some cases, 400 Eur. Per month, per employee. Have companies already adhered to the model? Were they successful in their implementation? Companies are changing their organizational model at work and opting for more flexible solutions. We have several cases of companies that decided to adopt a new hybrid work model - more agile, economical, and productive - reducing their office area and renting a workspace at Avila Spaces, with all the advantages, not only in costs but also comfort and use of secretarial services, logistical support, among others. The most recent example is that of Royal Caribbean Portugal, which decided to migrate its structure to our office center, as part of a process to change its business model, following the pandemic crisis. |
