It was an event that exceeded all expectations. That's how Avila Spaces and Fundão City Council assess the first edition of Remote Week, organised by these two partners. This remote working week (which took place between 27 and 31 May) happened within the scope of the collaboration protocol signed in August 2023. The aim of this protocol was to promote and support investment, entrepreneurship, job creation and innovation initiatives developed within the scope of Fundão's Urban Business Incubator (IUPEN). The first Avila Remote Week included a delegation of ten Avila Spaces clients (from areas such as software development, HR consultancy, tourism and digital marketing) who participated in networking activities and had contact with IUPEN's various branches of innovation, such as A Praça Incubator, the Design Factory and the Aldeias do Xisto Fab Lab. «Contacts were established to create partnerships with companies in Fundão's entrepreneurial ecosystem, particularly those operating in the areas of sustainable construction, agriculture, blockchain and software development for the medical cannabis industry», says Carlos Gonçalves, CEO of Avila Spaces. As well as promoting networking, the first Avila Remote Week helped to identify investment opportunities in the municipality of Fundão and business opportunities between members of both communities, there is also the aim of promoting the region as a tourist and cultural destination. Among the networking sessions, a bootcamp dedicated to the subject of 'Leadership' was held, involving members of the Avila Spaces delegation and heads of companies based in Fundão. This session was given by MBU Intelligence, a human resources and leadership consultancy, client and partner of Avila Spaces, who travelled in the entourage of the hybrid workspace company. "This was the first of many Avila Remote Weeks. The feedback from the participants was very positive and exceeded the expectations of all parties. It's a pioneering project at national level: we hope it will contribute to boosting economic activity in the interior of the country and promote solid and productive partnerships between companies from Fundão and Lisbon," concludes Carlos Gonçalves. |
