This May, Avila Spaces is back in Fundão for the second edition of Remote Week. This incredible event will take place from May 29 to June 1 and will bring a new group of ten entrepreneurs from the Avila Spaces community to get in touch with local companies and explore new investment opportunities. The first Remote Week took place in May 2024, thanks to an agreement between Avila Spaces and the Fundão City Council. The aim? To promote and support investment, entrepreneurship, job creation and innovation initiatives, all within the framework of the Polynucleated Urban Incubator for Companies and Businesses (IUPEN). ![]() Successful partnershipOur CEO, Carlos Gonçalves, highlights the advantages of this initiative: "Fundão City Council is one of the most dynamic municipalities in the country in terms of investment attraction policies and international synergies. After the success of the first edition, we had to come back to continue the investment and partnership work done in 2024.” During Remote Week, entrepreneurs will have free access to the network of coworking spaces managed by the municipality, such as A Casa do Guarda, in Serra da Gardunha. Participants will stay at Natura Glamping, in a super inspiring environment that combines work and leisure. ![]() Exploring Fundão's potentialFundão is known for having one of the most developed technological ecosystems in the interior of the country, attracting companies such as IBM, Capgemini and Rediness IT. Remote Week not only promotes business contact, but also presents the region as a tourist destination, with displays of regional products, gastronomy and visits to historic villages. Activities and NetworkingIn addition to business activities, Remote Week also offers a social and recreational approach. Participants will have the opportunity to get to know the local culture, sample typical cuisine and visit historic villages. These activities not only enrich the entrepreneurs' experience, but also help to promote Fundão as an attractive tourist destination. ![]() Impact and sustainabilityCarlos Gonçalves also highlights how this initiative aligns with Avila Spaces' values, saying that the second Remote Week "fits clearly and strategically into both Avila's social responsibility policy and ESG practices, especially the social pillar and the governance pillar”. By fostering contact between entrepreneurs and a less developed region, Avila Spaces contributes to reducing territorial asymmetries and to local economic development. «After the success of the first edition, we had to come back to continue the investment and partnership work done in 2024.» |
