The new Portuguese coworking space from Avila Spaces', the first integrated in a shopping centre (Atrium Saldanha), starts 2022 nominated for the South Europe Startup Awards and for the National Real Estate Award 2022. Avila Spaces’ new coworking space, Avila Work City, was nominated for two of the most important national and international awards in the sector: 'Best Coworking Space' of the South Europe Startup Awards 2021 (SESA) and National Real Estate Award 2022, the so-called 'real estate oscars', in Portugal. This is the third time Avila Spaces has entered the SESA: in 2019, was the winner of the Best Coworking Space of Portugal award and the following year the Best Coworking Space of Southern Europe. In 2020, Avila Spaces was nominated for the Global Startup Awards competition and was considered the second-best coworking space in the world. When it comes to the National Real Estate Award, this is the first nomination for Avila Spaces. Avila Work City enters the race for the maximum distinction in two categories: 'Offices' and 'Interior Design'; this new coworking space is also a finalist for the Excellence in Efficiency and Sustainability Award. "This pioneering project in Portugal represented a great challenge for us and its success is largely due to the support and trust that the Atrium Saldanha management team placed in Avila. We are very pleased with the quality of the final result and the nominations for these two awards are proof of that", says Teresa Jacinto, creative director of the Avila Spaces. The two nominations are the recognition of the new pioneer coworking project in Lisbon and Portugal, which will be officially inaugurated in February, the Avila Work City, which is currently in "soft opening" and receiving only the members of the Avila Founders Club, the first members to book places in this coworking. Avila Work City is a new concept of shared work space: it is the first to be integrated in a shopping centre, Atrium Saldanha, and aims to offer an integrated set of services in a single space: there are technology and clothing shops, stationery shops, bookstores, laundry and restaurant space. In an open space overlooking the Duque de Saldanha Square and Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo, with 640 square metres, the winning concept of Avila Spaces has been recreated, with a lounge area, individual and collaborative work zones, meeting rooms, boots for telephone and video-conferences, pantry and a novelty: a presentation zone, with an amphitheatre, prepared for business events or product launches. Carlos Gonçalves, Avila Spaces CEO, underlines that these two nominations are a "reason of pride for the whole Avila Spaces team". This recognition "represents a great motivation to face 2022 with energy, at a time when the coworking industry assumes a decisive role in the implementation of hybrid working models by small and large companies in Portugal", concludes the CEO. |
